Mantra Music

Darkness Retreat
The Universal Heart Dances are inspired by Murshid Samuel Lewis (1896–1971), an American Sufi and Zen master. He created circle dances as a spiritual practice to open the heart and “find God through inner experience.”
In the Open Sky Community, the dances are part of our spiritual practice and remind us that life is nothing but a joyful, energetic dance. Music has always been a great source of inspiration in my life. A new chapter began when I discovered mantra music — an expression of devotion, love, and life!
John David’s teachings are unique in their emphasis on the importance of community and connection. He stresses that spiritual growth cannot be achieved in isolation and encourages his students to support one another on their path to freedom. This focus on community has given rise to a vibrant international ashram in Germany, Spain, and Ukraine, as well as a global network of sincere seekers.
Whether you are just beginning your spiritual journey or are already an experienced practitioner, John David’s multifaceted approach to freedom can help you discover the peace and liberation you are seeking.
We begin each morning by turning our focus inward, opening body and mind through yoga and meditation so that we can start the day refreshed and full of color.
Radha has been practicing yoga and meditation for over 16 years and is a certified Hatha yoga teacher in the Sivananda tradition.
Immerse yourself in the art of figurative sculpting with clay and let your creativity run free. Under the guidance of experienced clay artist Traudel, you can bring to life whatever you imagine—perhaps a small Buddha or a turtle with a fantastical shell…
Traudel has been sculpting clay with devotion and passion for over 30 years. She is especially known for her enchanting gnomes and elf-like creatures, which she brings from the forest into the light of day.
Martin has been dancing and teaching Argentine Tango for over 20 years—both classical and modern styles. During his travels to Buenos Aires, the birthplace of tango, he learned this sensual dance form.
His teaching conveys mindfulness, poetic connection, and a dance that unites melancholy, passion, and tenderness—a wordless dialogue that touches the heart.
Through drumming, dancing, and singing, we playfully dive deeper into the energies of rhythm and feel the power that is released from within. With heartfelt songs, free dance, and earthy rhythms, universal energy takes over—and joy and creativity come bubbling up! This is life!
No musical experience is needed—everyone is welcome.
A playground for intuitive and creative forms of encounter that arise from the present moment, from a space of stillness, innocence, and curiosity. We play with music and neutral masks, which enhance expression and allow the “personal” to fade away. In the safe space of the “stage,” we can fully surrender to the NOW.
Indira is fascinated by theatre that emerges from the moment and from free play. She has been teaching and working as a hospital clown for 20 years.
In this workshop, we embark on a painterly adventure. Through drawing, scraping, spatula work, or even painting with our hands, we explore our inner images and move toward a free, authentic self-expression. The workshop is suitable for both beginners and advanced participants.
Martin came to art by way of a winding path—after deep involvement with architecture and music—and is now a mixed media artist.
Experience the joy and power of Highlife Afrobeat. Sarah’s workshop is full of energy, rhythm, and a deep connection to the earth and body.
With passion and experience, she guides you through movements and choreographies that bring people together, awaken your vitality, and root you in your natural strength. No prior experience is needed—just bring an open heart and a willingness to move.
Sarah is from Ghana, has been dancing since childhood, and loves to share the joy of African dance with others.
This film offers insight into the life and work of the English spiritual teacher John David, his multifaceted approach to freedom, and how he works with the people living with him in the Open Sky House communities. It takes the viewer on a journey through the spiritual world—from the initial curiosity about oneself to the understanding of what true freedom is and how to live it in everyday life.
The Open Sky Band creates a powerful space where you can deeply relax and recharge with fresh energy at the same time. Their music opens you to the healing power of mantras and connects you with your heart and inner stillness.
Mantras are sacred sounds that have been chanted for thousands of years. Their great spiritual power is difficult to grasp with the mind—but we can experience it directly when we sing them.
In this way, a field of joy, peace, and deep presence arises.
We begin each morning by turning inward, opening body and mind through yoga and meditation, allowing us to start the day refreshed and full of color.
Radha has been practicing yoga and meditation for over 16 years and is a certified Hatha yoga teacher in the Sivananda tradition.
Experience the beehive in the garden during this workshop and dive into the fascinating world of beekeeping and bees! We’ll explore different types of honey and their unique qualities and uses in Ayurveda and alternative medicine. Learn why bees are so crucial for sustainability and how their alarming decline threatens global food security.

This workshop invites you to connect with yourself and others in a playful and lighthearted way. Free from expectations or judgments, we engage in playful exercises that foster trust and heartfelt connection.
In the conscious here and now, your nervous system can release stress, open up, and relax. It’s an invitation to rediscover yourself and others in a new, playful way and to experience more ease in your interactions.
Radha has been exploring yoga and tantra for many years and regularly leads evenings focused on mindfulness, connection, and conscious touch.
Bring everything that arises within you into motion and express it through dance.
The five different rhythms of life help release blocked emotions and loosen old patterns. In Flowing, you bring your body into a state of flow and become aware of what is present.
Staccato invites you to feel and express your power more intensely. In Lyrical, you experience the joy of the lightness of being, until your dance finally leads you into Stillness and gently comes to rest.
Shiva loves to dance and discovered the 5 Rhythms many years ago as a powerful method on the path to freedom.
Painting, drawing, working with clay—here everyone can explore their artistic side. You’re free to experiment with colors and various materials to your heart’s content. The open studio in the painting space invites you to let your imagination run wild and experience the joy of creative expression without rules or expectations.
Let yourself be enveloped by the sounds of crystal singing bowls, cymbals, monochord, sansula, drums, and other instruments. Follow the sound into the silence of being, from which everything arises. There, in the stillness of your heart, listen to the voice of your true self and enjoy deep relaxation for body, mind, and soul.
Kali and Saraswati are deeply inspired by free improvisation that arises in the silence of the present moment.
